KBA said the investment thought to be in the region of 25m is "the biggest in Scottish printing for a generation".
Two new giant KBA Commander press lines each comprising five reel stands, five printing towers and a high-speed jaw folder will be installed at the 12-acre newspaper site.
Two of the four existing KBA Commander presses, installed at the site in 1995, will also be refurbished and upgraded with shaftless nine cylinder satellites in place of mono printing units.
"This investment is a vote for ink on paper," said Trinity Mirror Glasgow director Duncan Gilchrist.
KBA also announced the sale of its eighth Cortina press a six-tower to German firm Rhein-Pfalz, in Ludwigshafen near the Rhine. The Cortina is a waterless, 1,400mm-wide, keyless and compact web offset press.
KBA's chief executive Albrecht Bolza-Schunemann praised the group's 13.1% rise to 1.1bn (1.6bn) worth of sales in 2005 despite the "complicated and difficult conditions of the marketplace".
