KBA aims to give fresh impetus to the selling potential of Karat presses after making Michael Grieger its national sales manager for UK and Irish markets.
Grieger joined KBA UK from its sister firm in Germany over a year ago and now manages digital technologies and business development.
The move comes as KBA UK takes over sales, marketing and support for the 525,000 74 Karat sheetfed press.
Grieger leads the sales thrust and aims to sell three more 74 Karat presses this year. KBA sold 12 presses in the last month in Germany.
He reports to UK managing director Christian Knapp, who said he wanted to capitalise on the strong growth in all things digital.
Knapp added: We want to push the digital area and short-run colour market much further. Alliances
with Premier Integrated Solutions, httprint and Andrews Graphic Systems as well as a drive for increased market share calls for a re-shaping of our sheetfed sales force.
Grieger was promoted to the new post from sales manger for England and Wales. His replacement has not yet been chosen.
