The fire is reported to have broken out on a folder connected to a MAN Roland Uniset press last week. Around 20 fire extinguishers were used by 10 staff to put the fire out.
No-one was hurt by the blaze, but some staff from the Yorkshire plant contacted PrintWeek last week over initial concerns that job losses could take place as a result.
However, according to Unite GPM Yorkshire, Tyne and Humber branch officer Steve Hart, the machine is now back up and running.
He said: “The impact is not as deep as was first thought. There are no fears for the jobs at the plant and it is not likely the machine will be replaced.”
It is the second fire to hit Flaxby Moor in less than a year. In November 2006, fire devastated one of its Goss Universal 70 presses.
It also comes just weeks after a fire at Donnelley’s Kadocourt bindery in Aylesbury.
RR Donnelley was unavailable for comment.
