It replaced the company's DocuColor 2060 and is a result of increased demand for short-run digital and variable data work.
"We were impressed with our DocuColor 2060, which consistently outperformed its specified volumes," said Jasprint director John Rowell Jnr. "But we knew that the DocuColor 8000 was the solution to cope with higher printing volumes."
The new digital press will run alongside the company's two Xerox DocuTech black and white printers and a Xerox 92c highlight colour machine.
"The DocuColor 8000 was designed as an option for print providers who are looking to expand into the high-growth digital colour printing business," said Xerox UK director of graphic arts Peter Taylor.
