Jarrold Printing has picked up contracts from two of its main competitors in the web offset market after winning Emap Performances Mojo and Q.
Jarrolds produced its first edition of Mojo for November and the first Q in December. It also won the contract for Mojos quarterly spin-off, Mojo Collections, which had a print run of 72,000 and was produced in November. All three are perfect bound.
Cradley Group previously printed Mojo, with an ABC of 87,120, while St Ives Caerphilly had handled the 200,000-circulation Q.
Jarrolds used CTP to produce Mojo Collections, and Emap UK print buyer Andy Franks said he would extend the process to Mojo and Q "as soon as possible".
Franks said Jarrolds had a "great track record". He said Emap had decided to standardise the cut-off across some of its Performance arm titles, and would take advantage of Jarrolds short cut-off 64pp MAN Roland Lithoman web.
Jarrolds sales and marketing director James Povey said the contract wins were "really excellent for our magazine portfolio".
Although St Ives has lost Q, it has had a net gain of Emap titles this year, including Kerrang!, which was also previously printed at Cradley, and Period Living and Traditional Homes.
St Ives Web sales director Paul Utting said: "We are constantly reviewing the mix of work we do for Emap and agreed that Q was one title we shouldnt continue doing. However, we have gained an extra eight to 10 titles from Emap this year."
Franks said Emap still saw Cradley as a "strong partner". It retains one Emap consumer title, Internet, plus business titles including Broadcast and Construction News. It has also picked up four titles from GMC Publishing.
