Clive Ayling, Meteor Business Manager at TTP said this was a milestone. The first printer using the combined technology is already shipping.
"Production-ready hardware and software like this makes a massive difference to how quickly new systems can be created and their success in the market," Ayling said.
The Meteor Print Controller contains a modular data path to drive most industrial inkjet printhead types in any size of array or printer configuration. The ixPressia Print Engine provides control of all printer functions, image manipulation and job set-up. The integration of the two products saves time previously spent on manual installation and configuration.
The first printer using the combination of technologies was an unnamed fast colour printer for packaging applications.
