Gomer’s 13 union members initiated industrial action in August after management pushed through a series of contractual changes, such as a 2% pay increase, without negotiating with Unite. Allegations of bullying and harassment were also cited by union members.
Members had agreed a 12-week schedule of 24-hour and half-day walk outs and last week Unite announced that it would refer the case to an industrial tribunal.
However following talks on 7 September between Unite, Gomer Press management and independent employment advisory service ACAS, Gomer’s union chapel suspended any further action after the company agreed to formally assist in an investigation into the bullying allegations.
Gomer Press managing director Jonathan Lewis said: "The company has agreed to facilitate ACAS to carry out an investigation into as yet unfounded allegations of bullying and harassment at Gomer Press at the earliest possible opportunity.
He added: "The company has agreed to pay the hours lost due to the industrial action as and when the hours are worked over the next 12 months."
A Unite representative was not available to comment.
