Esko-Graphics has launched its latest platesetter for polyester plates. The DPX Lite two-up automatic platesetter is dedicated to portrait format presses and produces press-ready plates at 340x550mm. It is sold with the RipMate RIP and exposes at resolutions between 900 and 3,600dpi.

Bradford's Ernest Cummins has bought a Presstek Dimension 400 platesetter from AB Dick to make plates for five Heidelberg presses rolling off work in formats from A4 to B2.

Fastek Graphic Services in Leeds has been appointed to supply and give technical support for HighWater Designs CTP kit in the north of England.

Artwork Systems has confirmed the launch of its Odystar 2.5 workflow for packaging and label printers. It lets Adobe Illustrator operate without restrictions in a PDF 1.5 environment and interacts with ArtPro and Nexus pre-press systems.

Heidelberg has sold two Suprasetter platesetters. Hickling & Squires in Nottingham is using the Suprasetter 74 to output 30 plates an hour, while Fox Print Services in Tunbridge Wells has ordered a Suprasetter 102 in a move towards B1 print.

CPS of Eccles has bought a HighWater Python CTP system from Service Offset Supplies (NW). CPS director Doug Major said the capital needed for the investment was "realistic".

Fujifilm Graphic Systems has unveiled a raft of upgrades to Fuji Open Workflow. Scaling is now possible in the job ticket, while any job can be automatically set to step and repeat. Trapping features have also been improved.
