Impac has consolidated its market leading position in the European multimedia packaging industry with the acquisition of Sony Music Printing in Holland.
The deal was announced on Wednesday (20 September), and follows six months of negotiations.
"This is the big one for us," said Impac Europe chief executive Lee Newbon. "It's the culmination of years of effort trying to satisfy a company of the stature of Sony Music, and demonstrates Sony's belief in us as a company. It's an outstanding achievement."
Sony Music Printing employs approximately 200 staff and produces booklets, folders and inlay cards for CDs and DVDs.
Impac has also sealed a five-year supply deal with Sony, which Newbon said would add a "substantial" amount of turnover to the business.
Impac's worldwide president Richard Block added that he was "delighted" to expand Impac's already significant relationship with Sony.
