The development of the new Howden site is part of an ongoing push to expand the company's digital offering across all formats.
The 51-staff facility has taken delivery of an Inca Onset UV flatbed printer, which will boost ImageData Group's wide-format operation.
Chief executive David Danforth said: "The substantial investments we have made will serve to strengthen the company's position in the digital market."
He added that the expansion was in line with customer demands for decreasing run lengths and an increasing focus on digital print.
"We're convinced that the trends that we've been experiencing for the last 12 months or so for shorter-run lengths, variable imaging and print-on-demand will intensify as marketing budgets are squeezed and response times increase," Danforth said.
The investment follows on from the opening of a 1,670sqm document factory in Brighton, which the group anticipates will help it "weather any potential storm" in light of the current economic climate.
Danforth added that it was important to be "focused on customer demands" and "ensure that clients have a choice of formats depending on their individual marketing applications".
"We now have an awful lot of ability to handle any work we're given," he said.
ImageData Group employs more than 300 people across the UK and has a turnover of £25m. It has sites in Hull, Leeds, Howden and Brighton.
