ILN to launch upmarket sports mag Podium

Customer publisher Illustrated London News (ILN) has launched upmarket sports magazine <i>Podium</i>.

The first issue of the bi-monthly magazine will be available as of 27 July, with 35,000 copies distributed to business and first class air passengers, Eurostar Premier Class and also private jet lounges by DMD.

The 96+4pp magazine will also be available online and in tablet form.

ILN chief executive Lisa Barnard said that she believed the company had uncovered a gap in the market. "There is currently no high-end magazine aimed at an affluent audience that covers sports stylishly and intelligently.

"With our unique distribution model we have a guaranteed, captive audience from the moment of launch, and the high proportion of business people flying first or business class with a passion for sport means Podium will be a must-read."
