Cambridge-based Industrial Inkjet (IIJ) is the sales and technical arm for Konica Minolta's inkjet technology. The one day seminar will take place at Clare College in the city on 24 April, and is focused on the potential advantages of direct product decoration using inkjet.
Other speakers include IIJ managing director John Corrall, who will pose the question "why use labels when you can print direct?"
The full line-up includes speakers from Global Inkjet Systems, Agfa Graphics, Aerogen, Integration Technology and Dyne Technology, and spans related disciplines such as printhead control, inks, surface treatments, drying, and adhesion.
IIJ is targeting the event at brand owners and other companies interested in printing directly onto items such as cans and bottles, and other plastic and glass containers. Tickets cost £120, including lunch. For more information visit www.industrialij.com.
IIJ will also be on the Konica Minolta booth at the upcoming Fespa exhibition in June, where it will show its XYPrint 200 direct printing system.
Separately, for applications where label printing is necessary or desirable, IIJ has launched a new high-speed version of its Digital Label Module.
This is a full-colour inkjet system that can be retro-fitted to label presses from a range of manufacturers, including Mark Andy, Gallus, Nilpeter, Focus Label Machinery, Webtron and MPS.
It is available in print widths from 72mm to 492mm, and prints at up to 80m/min at 360x720dpi. Additional modules can print special colours such white ink, security inks, and varnishes.
