Hyway to take Mitsubishi out

Hyway Printing Services in London is to replace its 12-colour Mitsubishi waterless press with a 10-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 B1 press.

"We looked at our customer profile and decided the 10-colour was more appropriate," said Peter Schofield, brought in to head up Hyway after it fell into administration in summer and was bought by Montrose Press in August (PrintWeek, 23 August).

There were no problems with the Mitsubishi, which was under lease, he said. The 10-colour is being "specced up" for a Christmas delivery and may also be waterless.

Schofield said Hyway’s staff would receive 12-days’ pay they lost after the company’s problems.

"We were not obliged to pay, but they deserve it, have been battered, and the last thing we want is for them to suffer."
