The integration and automation ‘middleware’, from US-based Hybrid Integration, is being launched on this side of the Atlantic by new European subsidiary Hybrid Software.
It consists of three modules, FrontDesk, FaceLift and FileForce, which use XML to automate everything from online job submissions to order tracking, while providing full visibility of a printer’s business.
Jan Ruysschaert, managing director of Hybrid Software, described it as "a central control environment to tie [W2P, MIS and workflow] together into a comprehensive data collection, entry and monitoring facility, across multiple sites with efficient and streamlined file management control".
FrontDesk is a B2B web-to-print portal that connects into a printer’s existing workflow and is able to both preflight and track customer projects, allowing online collaboration, viewing and approval.
FaceLift is a browser-based monitoring and data entry facility that combines administrative data drawn from a printer’s MIS with production related information.
Ruysschaert said: "FaceLift is dedicated to providing a complete data control centre for any order being passed through the environment."
FileForce is a file and asset management system that Ruysschaert said would allow commercial printers to achieve the best possible margin for a particular order.
"Printers have all they need in terms of workflows, RIPs and MIS/ERP. We offer them a system to give them a transparent view of their business and optimise production," said Ruysschaert.
