PSS's assets have been transferred to Hunkeler Italia, which has changed its name to Hunkeler Control Solutions (HCS).
Hunkeler, which is represented in the UK by finishing distributor Friedheim, announced the deal at its Innovation Days event in Lucerne, Switzerland, this week.
HCS will be responsible for the development of specific control components and related software. Meanwhile, Hunkeler AG, its Swiss parent, will be in charge of marketing and servicing the systems worldwide.
According to Hunkeler, the new team will be concentrating on developments for the WI6 web inspection system and the IDEA tracking platform.
WI6 was one of the many products on display in Lucerne and featured the new full-colour monitoring system. It uses cameras to monitor the printed paper web across the entire product, identifying deficiencies along the way.
Hunkeler merges Italian division with printing business PSS
Finishing manufacturer Hunkeler has said it will be further developing its latest Web Inspection System, after merging its Italian subsidiary with fellow Italian printing business Print Systems Services (PSS).
