Humes no show at court hearing

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of print entrepreneur Nicholas Humes after he failed to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday (8 September).

Humes was due to face charges relating to acting illegally as a director in the formation of a company and its operation while an undischarged bankrupt (PrintWeek, 14 August).

Humes was a director of Newey Print and Midlands Print, both of which fell into administrative receivership this summer, while Midlands Publishing Holdings, his takeover vehicle, is being wound up by the Official Receiver, as is Newey Print.

The DTI prepared the charges after an investigation into Humes business activities that spanned several months.
