Howard Hunt expands factory

Howard Hunt City has bought a third factory at its Dartford site to make way for its second 1.5m Scheffer offline finishing line, boosting floorspace by 35% to 13,500m.

The line, part of a 3m investment so far this year, has full Scitex personalisation and Howard Hunt has also upgraded its existing Scitex system.

It said sales had risen 15% so far this year to 16m, while profits were up to 800,000 15-20% on this time last year after a 300,000 write-off.

Chairman Martin Pigott said: "Its really down to the philosophy behind the company. We arent just management-run. Our salesmen, printers and production people really drive us."

The investment also includes an extra CTP system and a new Prism MIS.

Howard Hunt is a pioneer UK user of Mitsubishis Diamond web, with two 16pp machines.
