Hollywood Monster and Service Graphics among winners at Sign & Digital UK awards

Hollywood Monster and Service Graphics were among the winners at the first Sign & Digital UK awards, which took place last night at Birmingham's National Motorcycle Museum.

The awards, which also presented attendees with a chance to network with other display printers across the UK, covered a range of sectors within sign and display.

Southampton's Vision Visual Solutions scooped the award for best individual sign project while Raccoon was awarded the accolade for best vehicle-wrapping project.

Elsewhere, Chessington-based Service Graphics sealed the best wide-format print project with Aggregate Industries deemed the 'Rising Star' of the evening.

Rudi Blackett, event director of Sign & Digital UK, said: "To be able to network with peers in a relaxed and friendly environment and showcase the huge talent our industry is fostering is a real privilege and we hope to make this awards evening an annual event".

Birmingham-based Hollywood Monster continued a buoyant 2011 by scooping the best wide-format company award.

The company has recently branched into the retail market after expanding with a £500,000 spend that included a HP LX800 Latex machine.

"We've worked hard to diversify and break into new market sectors," said managing director Tim Andrews. "All that effort and investment is now beginning to pay dividends. We are winning contracts in new sectors that are providing us with exciting opportunities to develop and grow our business."
