William Clowes has completed the sale of its 100-year-old site to Tesco and has appointed former BPC chief executive John Holloran as non-executive chairman.
The Beccles-based book printer, which celebrates its bicentenary in October, can move forward with its planned relocation to a modern factory on the outskirts of the town. It hopes to complete its move into the 10,000m2 purpose-built factory by next spring.
William Clowes has earmarked over 3m for investment, including a Timson press and new bindery equipment.
Chief executive Ian Foyster said: The prospect of a new factory, with exciting investment plans, and working with a very experienced team in book manufacturing is irresistible."
