Hillhouse is one of 10 UK-based staff across sales, service and back office functions to be made redundant.
"We are restructuring Presstek Europe as part of our growth strategy," said European president Guy Sasson. "Some UK roles are no longer relevant as we move to country managers in Europe."
Earlier this year, the company opened a French office and it is also set to open a German office before the end of this year, however the UK will continue to be Presstek's European headquarters, retaining some back office functions.
The UK will remain under the control of sales manager Peter Swann and service manager John Bracher.
"With limited resources, we need to focus on growth markets," said Sasson. "It is sad news for the company to lose Hillhouse and the other staff, but we need to weather 2009 and to be prepared for growth in 2010."
Hillhouse is a veteran of the business having joined AB Dick 24 years ago, which Presstek acquired in 2005.
