HighWater has installed its 100th Platinum in the UK at Ortek Colour Printers.
It is West Midlands-based Orteks second platinum second Platinum. "Our first Platinum 2230 has been very reliable over the past three years, and although we looked at alternatives from Screen and Agfa, we stayed with the HighWater 2230," said managing director Craig Morris.
The necessity for the second CTP unit arose after an increase in the volume of business, following the installation of a new five-colour Komori B2-format Lithrone 528EM printing press.
The pair of platesetters will enable Ortek to produce double the amount of plates, having gone from 300-400 plates a month, when the first machine was installed, to over 1,500.
"From our side it was particularly pleasing having installed a second machine within three years of the first one," said HighWater vice president of sales, Peter Flynn.
"Its also nice to see one of our customers come back to us, having gone through the upgrade of the YAG laser in its original 2230 to a violet diode," said Flynn.
Ortek is a commercial printer with clients mainly from the advertising and design sector.
