HighWater is negotiating an OEM agreement with Adast to re-badge its Platinum 2230 flatbed B2 platesetter, which could be sold alongside the Czech manufacturers 72 and 52cm range of presses. Adast bought a 2230 at Drupa for 75,000 to be supplied to a Czech printer.
HighWater marketing manager Sue Wood said that the company expected to sign the OEM agreement very shortly. "Its ready for signing, were just doting the Is and crossing the Ts," she said.
Wood added that under the deal HighWater expects to supply up to 10 platesetters to Adast this year.
The deal follows Heidelberg recommending the Platinum 2218 violet diode metal platesetter for use with its Speedmaster 52 and GTO presses.
Wood added: "Were delighted to be linked to another large press manufacturer with world wide coverage and world class presses."
