The Drupa launched Polar 78N Plus will be installed in the first week of July and will replace a 10-year-old Polar 78X.
“We’ve used Polar guillotines for a number of years and they’ve been great machines that have stood the test of time, so we didn’t really need to look at alternatives,” said H&H managing director Andy Jackson.
The guillotine will go into the firm’s all Heidelberg Penrith site, which runs a four-colour-plus-coater XL 75 and Speedmaster SM 74 five-colour perfector.
As well as the commercial print operation in Penrith, the firm also has a wide-format operation in Carlisle, formerly Albany Sign and Display, which it acquired in 2011, and a digital print arm in Milnthorpe, formerly Cypher Digital, which it acquired in 2012.
All three businesses operate under under the H&H Reed Printers brand.
