The two-year initiative is designed to encourage companies to reduce their environmental impact in the supply of PoP materials.
It is an agreement that spans the entire lifecycle of products and includes review of design, manufacturing, supply chain management, installation and fulfilment.
Chief executive of the print management firm Robert MacMillan said: "We are continually reviewing the options for providing sustainable and environmentally sound services and products.
"The Green Project provides a unique platform for HH to come together with other POPAI members to set meaningful objectives for reducing the environmental impact of our activities."
Information from the project will be used by POPAI to set benchmark minimum standards that companies operating within the industry must comply with.
A company can then be accredited with a POPAI Kitemark for Environmental Best Practice, which will inform those throughout the PoP process.
