According to the Hertford-based firm’s joint managing Mick Ollard, the latest addition will replace a larger 15-year-old buckle machine.
He said: “We bought the old folder because it was available and a good price, but it was bigger than we needed. Now we want to take a smaller buckle folder, which better fits our B3 size.”
Ollard added: “We expect the latest version to be faster. It will handle a range of simple folds and nothing too complicated.”
The Ti52 operates at 180m per minute and handles products from 100x150mm to 520x840mm.
The company has five Speedmaster SM 52 presses, including the UK’s first six-colour machine with expandable transfer cylinders, allowing the firm to handle stocks of 0.6mm.
Herts and Essex boosts folding
Herts and Essex Printers has bought a Heidelberg Stahlfolder Ti52 to run alongside its raft of Speedmaster presses.
