Herma announces low-cost digital label stock for aqueous inks

German self-adhesive tech firm Herma has launched a new label stock optimised for digital printing using water-based inks.

Herma Inkprint is available in matt and glossy grades in reels up to 1,520mm in width and is said to deliver "outstanding results" on standard inkjet printers using water-based rather than UV-cured inks.

Herma also claims the stock is suitable for Memjet-powered inkjet printers, which can print at speeds of up to 300mm per second using Memjet's page-width waterfall printhead technology.

Both grades feature Herma's 62Gpt multilayer adhesive and cost from 90p/sqm including delivery.

Herma said the uses for the stock included chilled and moist food packagings. The adhesive used has been ISEGA approved for direct contact with dry, moist and fatty foods, while the stock is suitable for processing on all typical flatbed and rotary die-cutters.
