The Dorchester-based company installed a KM600 binder in June, enabling it to handle short-run books.
With the addition of the ZU 822, the company will now be able to expand into new areas.
Managing director Helen Kennett said: "We see the gatherer as fundamental to the binding line. The ZU 822 gives us full advantage of the latest technology, but with a footprint that is practical for the number of stations we need.
"It is making us even more efficient at feeding things like CDs, so our throughput of even the most complicated jobs is much improved."
The ZU 822 is technically identical to the ZU 832, but it has four stations per base rather than three.
This extra capacity provides a 33% increase in the number of stations that can be fitted onto a binder layout.
