Heidelberg's grey balance optimiser picks up G7 System Certification

Heidelberg's Prinect Color Toolbox has received the G7 System Certification from IDEAlliance in recognition of its ability to calibrate a printing device to meet the G7 grey-scale definition using four 1-D curves.

Jeff Dunham, product manager, Prinect Workflow at Heidelberg USA, said the award validated "the depth and breadth of Heidelberg's longstanding expertise in workflow, colour management and equipment".

"As the only company that can support an end-to-end , colour managed workflow from prepress to post-press, Heidelberg offers a variety of solutions to help printers achieve accurate, repeatable colour on any press," he added.

Prinect Color Toolbox allows printers to optimise colour and imaging across multiple output devices, including proofers, platesetters and presses.

The Grey Balance Optimiser calibration tool is claimed to provide a means of achieving near neutral calibrations and can be used to create reference values for specific substrates, inks or printing processes.
