Heidelberg spokesman Hans-Dieter Siegfried said: There is nothing more in detail [to say].
Newspaper reports in North America have speculated that Heidelbergs Web Systems headquarters could move to France from Dover, New Hampshire, while Goss was also named as a potential buyer of the division.
The rumours have been fuelled by the fact that Goss Internationals chief executive, Bob Brown, was chief executive of Heidelberg Web Systems until May 2001.
Thats the problem, everybody is jumping on these rumours, added Siegfried. We will inform if theres an end result of these talks.
At the AGM, Schreier reaffirmed Heidelbergs commitment to its three-pronged focus on offset, digital and post-press.
Despite suffering from one of the most severe crises in the print media industry since World War II, Heidelberg could return to its old profitability in the medium term, even at lower sales levels, through streamlining its costs, said Schreier.
Future growth would come from threshold countries in Asia and Eastern Europe where printing was enjoying relatively buoyant growth.
Heidelberg would also launch around 50 new products at Drupa next May, said Schreier, with digital workflow being a key area. More than 200 of the firms software engineers were working on the development of components for the groups Prinect system, he said.
