According to the German business newspaper Handelsblatt, the press manufacturer is in dialogue with companies including Kodak and others.
A company source is quoted in the daily paper, saying: "Digital printing is becoming interesting again as a rather stable business. Heidelberg is looking for a partner and has looked at, among others, Nexpress."
In 2004, Kodak bought Heidelberg's 50% stake in the Nexpress platform for a nominal $1. However, Kodak was to pay up to £85m ($150m) based on sales up to the end of 2005.

Heidelberg could be set to make a fully-fledged return to the digital print arena following reports that it is actively seeking a partner for its digital print operation.
