The Prinect Document Mastering 1.0 software, which will be available from the beginning of April, enables the easy sharing of PDF documents regardless of the application that they were created in. It is available for all Heidelberg Digimasters the 9110, 9110cp and 9150i.
Heidelberg vice president of workflow solutions Leonard Christopher said that the software would dramatically reduce scan and makeready times.
This version of the software also brings us even closer to the JDF industry standard, by enabling workflow management to provide process reliability and flexibility, said Christopher.
Heidelberg is still the manufacturer, service and sales provider for the Digimaster product range, although it has agreed to sell its digital division, including its NexPress interests to Kodak.
Under the sale agreement, which has to be approved by antitrust regulatory authorities, Heidelberg will receive 81m ($150m) in two years time.
Heidelberg has also agreed to sell its web division to Goss International.
