MLG Glasgow, which is made up of M&M Press and The Print People, has bought a Speedmaster CD 102-5 to replace a Roland 706.
Meanwhile, MLG Perth, which has around 36 staff, has replaced a B3 press with a B2 Speedmaster CD 74-5.
Ian McCall, operations manager at MLG’s Perth site, said the firm, formerly the in-plant facility for Norwich Union, still does most of its work for the insurance giant.
“There are a lot of policy documents and brochures, but we’re also increasing outside direct and trade work.”
Existing kit – a B3 machine and a Printmaster 52 five-colour press – has been moved to the MLG Glasgow site. The CD 74 will work alongside the Printmaster PM 74 Ecocolor, MOs and GTOs.
