The printer's move into B2 last year meant that work was being held up as it was finished on its B3 folder, with excess work being sent out.
Managing director Philip Dodd said: "We are looking at expanding our B2 press capacity so we wanted a folder that could meet our current needs and those of the future."
The JDF-ready folder has a speed of 42,000sph and includes six buckles and cross-knife and can be operated from a 10in touchscreen interface.
Healeys is already familiar with Horizon equipment and owns a Stitchliner and BQ470 four-clamp perfect binder - it bought the new folder after seeing it at Ipex and in action at an existing IFS customer.
"One of the great things about the level of automation is the fact that the touchscreen prompting shares a commonality making it very easy for our team members to move around all the equipment," said Dodd.
The company also bought a Horizon detachable knife unit that can endorse fold booklets for mailing.
