Healeys orders world's first B3 perfector

Healeys of Ipswich has become the world's first buyer of Heidelberg's long perfecting B3 press, the Speedmaster 52-8-P-H, itself a world first (PrintWeek, 8 April 2004).

Healeys managing director Philip Dodd and fellow director Graham Rees went to Drupa on a mission to buy the press, which was only unveiled the show at last week.

Dodd commented: "This press will allow us to turn out 4/4 work more efficiently. It is true single pass production. It will allow us to nibble away at some work traditionally handled by B2 players."

The machine will be delivered later in the year.
