Signed in October, the partnership integrates Haybrooke’s PDQ Print Hub print buying platform and PaaS (printing as a service) offerings into Ricoh’s document and print centres across the UK.
With 22 Ricoh sites already set up with PDQ, additional locations are expected to adopt the print buying platform in the coming months. Through the collaboration, Haybrooke said Ricoh will leverage its technology to streamline print procurement, optimise costs, and advance sustainability initiatives.
PDQ Print Hub enables Ricoh to access a broad network of vetted print providers, ensuring competitive pricing while meeting Ricoh’s high standards of service quality and environmental responsibility.
“Partnering with Ricoh UK is a significant milestone for us and an endorsement of PDQ Print Hub as a leading print buying solution in the printing industry,” said John Roche, CEO of Haybrooke.
“This agreement not only expands Ricoh’s access to the broader print marketplace, but also aligns with our shared commitment to sustainable practices. We’re excited to help Ricoh to continue delivering enhanced value and more sustainable outcomes to its clients.”
A Ricoh spokesperson also commented: “In selecting Haybrooke as a partner, we recognised the unique capability of PDQ Print Hub to offer a fully digitised procurement solution that not only reduces Ricoh’s costs but also promotes sustainability by optimising our supply chain and print sourcing.
“This partnership is a strategic step forward for us, as we continue to innovate in our services and exceed client expectations in an environmentally responsible manner.”
Haybrooke said its PDQ Print Hub and PaaS commercial model that underpins the service would allow Ricoh to take full advantage of competitive pricing, on-demand print sourcing, transparent reporting capabilities, aggregated print spend, and carbon balanced print.
Roche told Printweek that Haybrooke is actively looking for printing partners, across all printed product categories, due to the growth of PaaS, and that the business welcomed interested parties to get in touch.
Separately, Haybrooke has been shortlisted for several upcoming awards, including Small Business of the Year at the British Business Awards taking place in London on 14 November, and eBusiness and Service Provider of the Year at the Boss Industry Awards, taking place in Birmingham on 28 November.
It is also a finalist in the High Growth Business, Employer of the Year, and Sustainability Award categories at the SME National Business Awards, taking place at Wembley Stadium on 6 December.
Haybrooke currently employs 10 staff, having recently taken on a new head of creative services – Roche’s daughter Lauren Roche. Its turnover target for the current financial year is £3m.
Earlier this year the business secured strategic partnerships with two new office sector buying groups and revealed that it was launching a new quoting interface for PDQ Print Hub.
A year ago the company relocated to a new office at the Harborough Innovation Centre in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
