Pictabulous was launched last week as a sister brand to Harrier Print’s personalised print service Truprint.
Using a team of artists that add designs to photos, Pictabulous then processes the orders using web-to-print software, before printing them on canvas at Harrier’s Newton Abbott print operation and sending them out, in a maximum nine-day process. Fine art styles include Impressionist, Oil Painting, Watercolour and Impasto, and there are are also a number of separate themes that can be added.
Harrier digital acquisition manager Rob Crump said that the service was the first of its kind in the UK to offer this personalised artwork printing as an end-to-end solution.
Crump said: “This is really part of a drive to offer more options for the consumer. At the moment we are known for Truprint and want to build upon this success.”
Crump added that the new offering would be given heavy exposure as part of today’s (24 November) Black Friday sales drive and that even though it is a “different concept” than Truprint, sales had started to come in and there is confidence they will pick up in the week before Christmas.
Managing director Chris Hughes said: “This innovative and unique website offers our customers the opportunity to turn their cherished photographs into great pieces of quality artwork in a range of fun and traditional styles.”
Last year, Harrier 'saved Christmas' when it took on Christmas card work from collapsed card printer Dynamic Colour.
