The Newton Abbot-based photo finishing business, which is part of US-based District Photo and responsible for photo service Truprint, is using its Taopix photobook creation software to create jobs for the over 50s company.
Customers can create bespoke gifts via a branded front-end on the Saga website using the Taopix software, a partnership that has seen Harrier produce around 1,700 jobs to date.
Julian Marsh, photo products and business development consultant for Harrier, said the demographic of Saga’s customers "provides a great opportunity for the sale of photo products".
He added: "We’ve used the Taopix platform to develop a great application that is branded for Saga throughout, from the desktop icon to the shopping cart so their customers feel comfortable dealing with a brand they know.
"In just a couple of months, we’ve produced around 1,700 photo books and other gifts for Saga as part of a promotional launch of the service."
Harrier invested in the Taopix photobook creation software to help target new business during non-peak periods throughout the year.
It operates a battery of HP Indigo digital presses that include six 7000 machines, as well as a 5000, and is offering brands such as Saga a bespoke web-to-print service that can act as either a new or complementary sales stream to other products.
"Harrier LLC fulfils the print and finishing, giving the brand in question the security of working with an established photo finisher, powered by a fleet of reliable and productive HP Indigo presses," Marsh added.
Last month Truprint triumphed in a three-year tax battle with HM Revenue & Customs over whether it should have been charged VAT on its photobook sales.
