Harlands of Hull is relocating to a purpose-built site by early February to enable more efficient workflow and manufacturing.
The firm has occupied its present 6,500m2 site since the 1960s. Its acquisition this year by Grenadier Holdings has provided the investment for a move it had planned for many years.
Managing director Ian Wright said all 85 staff would move to the smaller 2,790m2 plant: "Because
it's purpose-built we can achieve more in less space."
Harlands will move its existing Gallus and Nilpeter reelfed presses and will re-install the MIS and pre-press system that have been up and running in the last few weeks.
These include an Optimus MIS, Iris iProof A3-plus proofing system, and a CreoScitex Dolev imagesetter.
Harlands aims to build on its client base, which includes L'Oral, Jim Beam Group, Marks & Spencer and Body Shop.
It will also develop its range of customer-specific bespoke products and electronically advanced anti-theft devices such as source tagging and radio frequency identification traceability labels (RFID).
"We are looking for a year-on-year growth of 15-20% over the next three years," said Wright. "There will be no real change of direction as we are concentrating on developing our hold on existing markets."
Harlands has appointed Julie Frank as manager of
its newly-created customer service team.
