Huddersfield-based Halcyon DM has invested in two Oc PageStream 500s in response to an increase in demand for its direct mail services.
The purchase, which was funded by Halcyons parent group Adare, increases its digital output from 1.4m metres to over 3m metres per month.
Halcyon DM general manager Neil Pike said: "The latest investments provide the resources we need to satisfy the demands of our direct mail customers and place us in prime position to extend our offering to a wider market."
The machines can each run at 500 A4 pages per minute at a resolution of 300dpi, but can be slowed to achieve 600dpi for higher quality work and difficult paper stocks.
Complementing the PageStreams are two Hunkeler Rewind units coupled with a special slitting device before the in-feed into the firms Siemens NDZ laser and guillotine lines.
"It gives us the ability to split a job onto two reels, which we do for a daily job," said Pike.
He added: "The secret to making money in this business is to work a bit smarter."
