Guilbert MD Mahoney leaves

Chris Mahoney, managing director of Guilbert Print, and managing director of Office Depot UK and Ireland, has left the company. Peter Birks, previously vice president Office Depot Europe, has been named as his successor.

Robert Vale, senior vice president for European operations, said that Birks' considerable experience would help him to lead the UK and Irish contract businesses in pursuit of the company's growth plans.

Birks will report directly to Vale. He joined Office Depot in May 2000 and was instrumental in launching the contract business in the UK and Ireland. Office Depot bought Guilbert in June last year, in a deal worth 546.5m (E815m). Along with its own print facility Guilbert Print offers its own print management service.
