Grgprint.com expands personalised kit with large-format flatbed

Commercial printer Grgprint.com has increased its presence in the personalisation market with the installation of a large-format UV flatbed printer from Fujifilm.

The £70,000 investment in an Acuity HD 2504 will also help to bolster the Leeds-based company's presence in the large-format market.

Managing director John Grogan said: "As a large-format conventional printer we have been monitoring this market closely.

"The press addresses what have been our main concerns: those of quality, format and flexibility."

Grogan added that the format of 1.25x2.5m fitted well with the company's POS work, and it is also able to print onto almost any material and up to a thickness of 48mm.

The company, which plans to launch personalised products such as canvasses, posters, jigsaws and tiles, is also developing a new website where customers can upload and edit images before submitting an order.

Last year, the company boosted its presence in the smaller-format market with the purchase of a secondhand Heidelberg CD74 packaging press.

The press was installed at the £2m-turnover company in the middle of September for an undisclosed sum.

Grgprint.com has 25 staff, and works in B2, B1 and SRA0 formats, as well as A4 to SRA3 digital.
