Graphoprint is first UK firm to buy an M600D

Graphoprint has signed for a new five-unit M600 at Drupa, and the press will be the first of the new high-speed M600Ds in the UK.

The Deeside firm is an all-Heidelberg house and currently runs three M850s, one M300 and an M600B. The new press, which is due to be up and running by October, will replace the oldest M850, which is 13 years old.

The highly specified 70,000iph press has GMI closed loop colour controls, Heidelberg's new Ecocool integrated dryer, and spine gluing and rotary trimming. The firm has also left a gap for the future addition of a coater or sixth unit.

"It will give us an additional edge in the market and will probably get us into smaller run multi-section work because of the fast makereadies," said sales director Roger Carter. "A fast 16pp is more productive than an old 32pp."
