A year on from buying a Suprasetter A75, Printbylaser has purchased a second system that features a double cassette loader.
It will be delivered in April and the company is trading out a three-year-old Suprasetter H75.
Chris Murley, director at the £3.2m turnover, Tyne and Wear-based company, said: "The new Suprasetter A75 has a very quick make-ready time and a second cassette loader which doubles the amount of plates. It offers us flexibility."
He added the company is looking for new premises near to its current site.
Murley said: "We are planning to go into web-to-print, and we are also looking at acquiring another new Anicolor press to compete with the digital market."
The 40-staff company is an all Heidelberg house, with a B2 Heidelberg five-colour Speedmaster, a B2 two-colour press and a B3 Anicolor.
Last year the company also installed a number of Prinect add ons, including Color Toolbox and Pressroom Manager.
Printbylaser is also undertaking a Heidelberg ISO 12647 certification process to prove that it is achieving sustainable colour standards.
The company handles printing contracts for the NHS Trusts, other government bodies and print management work for companies including Communisis.
