It bought a Bizhub C8000 and C7000 colour presses, as well as a Bizhub Pro 1200 high speed monochrome machine.
According to manufacturing director Robin Carruthers, the colour presses represent a turning point for digital colour stability.
He said: "The transactional market place is a big growth area for GI Direct and Konica Minolta’s machines are a key tool to breaking this market. The combination of these three machines has enabled us to achieve a very quick turnaround, even on longer runs."
As well as increasing its output, the investment should help GI Direct manage its growing demand and enable the company to offer bespoke options for the creation of personalised documentation, such as invoices and statements.
Carruthers added: "We have always prided ourselves on offering a comprehensive range of services to our clients. Our growing transactional work follows significant new investment in operational capability and equipment, and means we can now offer our clients an even greater range of professional services."
