Delivered at the end of March to GB Mail’s 1,486sqm facility in Aylesbury, the machine has been brought in to complement the work of two Xerox Nuvera mono production systems.
Costing £30,000, it will be used by the mailing fulfilment firm for the production of carrier sheets, letters, donation forms and stitched financial reports.
Managing director Joseph Ghadami said: "We pride ourselves on ensuring that the services we provide to our clients are consistently delivered at an exemplary standard. Alongside our current setup, our new Konica Minolta will certainly assist us on upkeeping such standards, and more importantly allow us to expand our digital print offerings.
"Our clients will benefit greatly from the new installation in terms of faster turnarounds, increased capacity, superior image quality and various finishing options."
Konica Minolta’s bizhub Press 1052 runs black and white production at speeds up to 105 A4 or 60 A3 pages per minute with a resolution of 1,200dpi using an LED printhead.
It can handle media weights from 40-350gsm and runs an 'intelligent paper catalogue' for managing mixed paper types. The machine can be configured with a number of additional units.
GB Mail’s machine was taken on with a high-capacity vacuum feed unit as well as a staple/saddle-stitch finisher.
Moving forward, the £3m-turnover firm is planning on adding new staff to its 30-strong team in order to expand its sales team, while investing further in digital print equipment.
