Garnetts 300k post-press buy

Garnett Dickinson has spent 300,000 on Gmmerler finishing kit to further automate and speed up its workflow.

Part of the spend comprises two Gmmerler BL408 compensating stackers, both bought at Ipex, where the kit made its debut.

Garnett has also ordered a raft of binders, robotic palletisers, log feeders and stackers for its Rotherham site. This follows the investment in a 16pp five-unit MAN Roland Rotoman press, which was ordered in March and is due to be installed in June.

According to operations director Geoff Gramlick, the finishing equipment is part of the firm's efforts to make Rotherham one of the most advanced sites in the UK.

"It gives us a very slick workflow," he said. "I believe we will have one of the UK's most efficient workflows."

The 12,000sqm site also has a 48pp Lithoman IV, Agfa Delano project management software and three Muller Martini Prima S saddlestitching lines.
