GAE says demand for finishing kit remains strong

Finishing equipment distributor GAE has said that printers are still investing money in new kit, but they need a little more persuasion to spend money.

The company held its open house event last week at its Perivale headquarters, and managing director Tony Hards said that customers were telling him that they did have the need for new equipment.

He told PrintWeek: "People are still spending money, if you talk to them a lot of guys are saying that they are busy. With companies closing the work filters down so people do feel the need to bring in new kit.

"It would be nice to have a steady stream of orders coming in, but in the current climate you are never going to have that. It was a good event, there were some very good demonstrations. But if you ask me in a week's time I could have nothing, or I could have a couple of guys signed up."

At the show the new Plockmatic 4000, which is distributed by Murodigital, alongside equipment from Canadian company Graphic Wizard, were on show for the first time.
