The cover, which is a UK first, uses a high-definition lens that offers a greater sense of perspective than conventional methods and features a 3D montage of the band's iconic imagery such as the hammer, the pyramid and the flying pig.
The cover was printed by London-based Hive Associates, while the main magazine, which has a print run of around 90,000, was printed by William Gibbons.
Future's group publisher of rock titles Chris Ingham said: "It was only right to celebrate [the Pink Floyd anniversary] with a cover as mind-expanding as their music.
"The 3D cover is attention-grabbing and continues our strategy of making an event issue out of the most important bands in our readers' lives. As we move in 2010, we plan to continue our innovative streak as we grow and develop the Classic Rock and Metal Hammer brands beyond their traditional media space."
