Fusion lands deal with Express, N&S

London gateway repro company Fusion Group has won the repro contract for Express Newspapers and Northern & Shell magazines, taking over from Mullis Morgan.

From next month Fusion will handle repro for the publishers entire magazine portfolio, and from the end of January 2004 it will act as the advertising repro gatekeeper for its newspapers.

Fusion Group director Alison Katter confirmed that her company had won the contract and said that 20 staff were being transferred to the company from Mullis Morgan under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) regulations. They will be integrated alongside our people, she added.

Fusion Group would review its workflow procedures in the coming months, she said. The contract is for a number of years but Katter would not comment on its exact length or provide any further details.

Express Newspapers portfolio includes the Daily Star, Daily Express, Sunday Star and Sunday Express. Northern & Shell publishes OK!, New! and new celebrity title Star.

Mullis Morgan managing director Keith Green was unavailable for comment as PrintWeek went to press.
