The second-order FM screening algorithm is a proprietary Fuji Rampage technology, unlike other FM screening applications such as Creo Staccato and Heidelberg Satin, which license Global Graphics technology.
Its a requirement of the market, said Fujifilm Graphics Systems marketing manager Graham Leeson. We believe second order FM screening solves printers technical problems as well or better than other options.
As yet Fuji hasnt revealed full details of the spot sizes used in the screen, although Leeson said it had worked hard to ensure a balance between easy implementation and high quality.
It will be available to Rampage users from next month, although there are already some UK beta sites.
